Salt & Straw
More often than not, my attempts at "food photography" take second string to shots of interiors (also: the back of my boyfriend's head). And that's a shame, especially when visiting places like Salt & Straw. With the freshest of ingredients and an adventurous approach to flavors, this Portland ice cream shop is a must stop, no matter the weather. I'm just disappointed I don't have a photo of my cone to remember it by.
But first, coffee
I've never been good at blogging regularly, but coffee—getting my hands on a good cup of coffee is a prerequisite for starting the day.
It goes without saying that Stumptown Coffee Roasters is a Portland coffee institution, one that happened to have a location just a short elevator ride away from my room at the Ace Hotel. And with Heart a few blocks away and a trip to Coava in the itinerary, I left Portland more than well-caffeinated.
